My Favorite Pandora Stations for Productivity

Mar 26, 2015

Hi, folks! I thought I’d do something fun and a little different today… a change of pace is always nice and refreshing, right?

In case you aren’t aware, I’m a huge music lover. Before I switched to a degree in Communication in college, I was actually pursuing my B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. So, music has always been, and always will be, a big part of my life. Now, I pretty much only sing in the shower… but, let me tell you, it’s quite the show. Just ask Ty. He gets to hear it almost every morning.

Anyway, I love to listen to music while I work throughout the day. But, I’m also somewhat picky about what I’ll listen to while I’m trying to be productive. I require something that’s a little more mellow, so that it acts as nice background noise without being distracting. In case you require an example, one time I tried to listen to a Broadway Pandora station while I was writing, and I ended up just belting my lungs out and doing wild arm gestures to “No Good Deed” from the Wicked soundtrack instead of getting any quality work done. Woops.

So, today I wanted to quickly share a few of my favorite Pandora stations to listen to while I’m working. Maybe this will inspire you to return to one of your favorite stations, or perhaps you’ll find something new!

MY FAVORITE PANDORA STATIONS

1. Michael Buble Radio

You guys, I’m pretty much in love with Michael Buble. I love that retro, crooner, Frank Sinatra-ish sound, and Michael Buble does it perfectly. One time, I saw Michael Buble in concert. I kid you not, he knelt in front of me and held my hand. It was the most magical moment of my life (sorry, Ty). Anyway, the songs on this station always put me in a great mood without pulling my focus away from my work!

2. Norah Jones Radio

This station is a great one, stuffed full with mellow and relaxing tunes that provide some soothing background noise. I highly recommend this station for when you’re feeling ridiculously stressed or overwhelmed.

3. Art Tatum Radio

With mostly jazz piano and instrumental tunes, this station is always one of my favorites to work to. Without any words, I’m never tempted to sing along. Plus, it makes me feel like I’m working in Starbucks, even when I’m just in my own office.

If I’m doing something around the house, such as cleaning, I love to crank up my Queen Pandora station and dance around the house. Obviously, household chores require a much more high tempo and energetic playlist.

What are some of your favorite Pandora stations, especially for when you’re trying to get things done? I’m always looking for recommendations, so feel free to share your favorites!

Until next time!
